Dr. Saima Ansari is a board-certified physician specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. At Northeastern Pulmonary Associates, she works with fellow physicians and her staff who serve the residents of the northeastern part of Connecticut and many neighboring communities.
After completing her internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, she served as the chief medical resident at the University of Rochester, New York. After completing her residency, she went on to complete her fellowships at the University of Rochester Medical Center in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Subsequently, she has done a course and training in advanced bronchoscopy at the Lahey Clinic and Beacon Medical Center.
She is an accomplished assistant professor of medicine at the University of New England – College of Osteopathic Medicine, and she had teaching responsibilities on the pulmonary medicine course at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Critical Care Journal Club.
Dr. Ansari has many publications, presentations, and research projects to her credit. She has presented at various conferences regarding lung diseases. She has been the recipient of honors and awards, including serving as a chief medical resident, resident of the year, and the resident poster award. She has had honors in ophthalmology, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics-gynecology work shifts during her training. She is fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi. She is also a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and American Medical Association.
